thanks for that. I watched the cartoon, and the Oberman/countdown news sketch as well. It's interesting to find out some of the inter-twined entities said to be involved between South Park / Comedy-central, versus the interests / movie houses that tend to be found producing Cruise films. If I heard correctly, Viacom is involved on both sides of that tangle. From that angle, I suspect that Cruise himself would not have been required to wage much temper tantrums threatening a law suit. One peep in that direction and Viacom likely figurred that out on it's own. I can almost picture Redstone holding out his arms, pondering the balancing act and musing ....hmmm, flamboyant jacknapes that draws into my operations $100 million a pop at the the box office plus whatever residuals from hyping merchandising/trinkets upon movie fanatics, plus eventual DVD/rental houses and eventually syndication through cable/tv, versus a couple million bucks plus or minus reruns for one out of hundreds of episodes of animated cartoon characters?...... hmmm, me thinks that a placated Tom versus an angry/litigous Tom will be much more prudent & profitable... besides, animated cartoon characters being what they are, generally do not have the capacity to throw a hissy fit over anything for any reason.....
