Re: They are indeed!
Hello Terence,
Oats are good food. In fact both Frau Dr. Johanna Budwig and Dr. Gerson used oats in their regiments as breakfast items.
oats are low-glycemic; contains beta glucan and pectin but also protease inhibitors; preferably sprouted (in Ezekiel & other sprouted breads); rolled oats & oatmeal are good forms of oats; nonsprouted oats contain gluten; avoid nonorganic oats.
One way to do it, is to soak them first in filtered water (55-60 degrees celcius) for a while. Discard the water and cook them in different fresh water. This would get rid of most of the phytic acid and will also shorten the cooking time.

But, I am afraid of nutrition not enough.
If you noticed I included sproted Legumes as well.
Brown rice or millet is also o.k in moderation as well as alaskan salmon.
Moreover, I would highly recommend the flaxseed oil, flaxseeds and cottage cheese and/or yogurt (look in the links I gave in my previous post for instructions and quantities). she could also use that for breakfast and mix it with the cooked oats and some dry or fresh fruit plus almonds or walnuts. The fruit makes the dish quite sweet. However, should she like it slightly sweeter, she can add some STEVIA or a little bit of homey. I prfer the STEVIA since it is zero glycemic.
I believe that both Frau Dr. Budwig and Dr. Gerson were a little too lax on sweet things. Having said that, I do however think that a BIT of royal gelly or a BIT of honey is not the end of the world. It is also very important that she enjoys her meal.
So, between the yogurt, cottage cheese (used only for the budwig regiment, since dairy products on the whole are not recommended for cancer patients), alaskan salmon, cereals, rice, millet, sprouted legumes, fruits and vegetables and the vitamin B12, I think she would defenitly get all the essential nutrients.
She should not forget the juices. They are packed with phytochemicals and enzymes, yet are digested quickly and easily, thus leaving the body with plenty of important energy for healing.
Let me know if you need any further assistance.
