Re: Magnesium Chloride Vs Magnesium Sulfate

I appreciate this. Good write up. Shirley's Wellness Cafe is great.

I believe that the Epsom Salts would be very beneficial for Autism , ADD, and ADHD due to the sulfate. The links included in my first post included a site that showed the magnesium levels in people who used Epsom Salt baths over a period of time. It did not specify the length of time the levels stayed up, however it did state for most people twice a week in the tub would be sufficient.

Halogens are used in prescription medicines because they carry the medicine more efficiently and help to drive it into the tissues. In this way the medicine can have less of the active ingredient in them... cheaper to make as it is better assimilated due to the halogen carrier. I suspect the chloride helps with the magnesium absorption in this respect.

I wonder though, if bathing in chlorinated and/or fluoridated water with ES would not, at least in part, have the same effect... something the studies did not address.
