To answer your questions about brain parasites: Yes, parasites can grow to adult stage. There have been a few famous cases published on removal of large tapeworms. Parasites can be diagnosed -- for the post part, CT Scan & MRI are best to have because not one scan can't pick up the menacing problem. I've made several posts on the Parasite Forum on brain parasites.
