Re: Living plastic free: Soda Pop #2

What??

What has this to do with the article I posted
on the hydration claims of Coke??

This person IS ignorant if they are drinking
soda from an aluminum can just to reduce their
risk from plastic leaching into their drink.

How about ferreting out an article on exactly
what is the chemical soup of soda after sitting
in the heat in warehouses and other places before
being iced down and served to us like it was an
elixir of life.

Funny how some addictions are encouraged while
others are punishable by law...

Foisting these products on humans knowing deep
down that they are not healthy for us should be
the sin. Certainly that this woman thinks it is
a SIN to drink from a can unwittingly not realizing
it violated her precious standard of "no plastics"
would be a red flag of a more serious problem IMHO.

The really smart person is the one who realizes
that risk factors abound, and that drinking from
glass is the best alternative and if you cannot
find glass, how about water. The smart person
realizes it is a war to compromise your immune
system so that you are easier to kill or foment
disease in so you provide an endless source of
income for those who will treat your symptoms but
keep you on their hook until you die. By drinking
sodas and other products with high fructose corn
syrup, you are engaging in a habit which will
compromise your health eventually...

It is also a habit which we keep passing on
generation to generation. Now we have soda kids
and soda babies. Yes, babies with sodas in their
bottles and it is astounding to see a child
screaming for a soda. A diet one at that~!
Some parents addict their kids and like the person
who cannot get going in the morning without their
soda, these kids cant get going and cannot stop
going...but still the endless pumping down their
little gullets of this beverage which is not
a healthy choice.

I know it is not easy since I was a parent who
had to fight my kid and other parents to keep my
child from drinking sodas. She could have a white
soda on a special occasion and we gave her lots
of water and juices. I think it made a huge difference
and as an adult, she still does not drink soda.
I am glad I took that stand and feel like I had to
fight the norm but it was worth it. As an adult now,
my daughter has thanked us for being strict with her.
She understands now how she benefited from our choice.

I think that the number of parents and grandparents
who have this understanding of the dangers/risks of
these products are a minority however, and that makes
me sad.

If you want to help, when you see the person with
their weekend stash of 6 liters of soda (or more)
in their grocery cart, yeah, say a prayer for them
as "they know not what they do...".

be well,
Zoe
