Re: Trap Remember how your daughter's tatoo reacted to Lugols............
in my early days in alaska, after i got out of the service, i spent time with some very cool and sometimes bizarre people. there was this one fellow who was homesteading a place and he was smack dab in bear central. they had to shoo them out of the yard to leave their house sometimes. he carried a hogleg you would not believe. i didnt know they made a wheel gun with a barrel that long. it was a .45 and those shells made my .41 mag look like .22 shorts.
his medicine for the bears was simple. he took those unjacketed semi wadcutters and drilled out the tips of them deep and wide. he then filled the holes with mercury and entombed the quicksilver using sealing wax. he said that if he ever had to tangle with a bear, even if the bear killed him, he would eventually kill the bear through the dysfunction created by dispersing all that mercury into his system.
i remember those shots in the military. i know you are exactly right. those air guns probably drove that cocktail of mercury and monkey pus right to the bone.
if you ever get hold of one of those guys, thump him once for me, will ya?
much love to you and yours!
