Re: Thyroid meds -- so wonderful I HAVE to share!
You are entirely correct.
I should really get back on Isocort. It's prescribed, but I stopped taking it because of funds. Symptoms of adrenal deficiency have worsened recently, probably due to severe family stress.
I upped my Armour to 2.5 gr. just one week ago because I still felt hypo. I have Wilson's, so my body temp is the best way for me to tell.
Once you've been supporting your adrenals for 3-4 weeks, if you still feel bad, continue upping 1/2 grain every 3 weeks until you feel better. You can ALWAYS reevaluate and go back down if it turns out to be too much!
My hair is beginning to look tremendous (finally). I have Interstitial Cystitis, and take Elmiron for that, so I lost about 1/3 of my hair for the first year. It did start to grow back independent of the thyroid switch, but is FAR less dry/breaking than it was before the thyroid switch. It's grown past my waist now.
I have lost 20
pounds since switching to taking my Armour sublingually 3.5 months ago! Before that I couldn't lose 5
pounds for a million dollars no matter what I ate or didn't.
I got most of my information from "stopthethyroidmadness.com".
good luck!
