Re: Y'know what? You're right
Hi Celcius,
Thanks you for so graciously acceptiong my apology. Yes, when it comes down to it, we only have our own opinions which of course we perceive as our own being "right", but in truth, we do not know for sure. So, we must work from our opinions, which I believe for all of us, even the most outrageous opinions (remember 79xxx?), comes from the heart and a true desire to help/change, etc., the ills of the world.
I am truly sorry that my words hurt you. When I debate, I think of it kind of like fighters going into the ring, and then when the fight is over, that fight is put behind them and they shake hands. In other words, to me the debate is one moment in time, with a beginning and an end, like a "sporting event" and has no bearing on how I feel about the person I am debating. But, I also realize that I can sometimes go over the line, and that can get sticky. And not debating the subject, but instead debating a principle, was not appropriate here. Nothing is worth alienating friends.
Anyway, have a good day, C. And again, thanks for telling me how you felt.
