Lots of good points. I just want to make one observation which is, just because most scientists themselves may be atheists, that does not mean that everyone who believes in Science is an atheist.
Yes, scientific studies can end up coming to the wrong conclusions about what they see in front of them. Another example, imho, is when they say take care of your teeth to spare your heart. I think it is the same mechanism causing bad teeth that is causing heart issues, not that bad teeth cause bad hearts, tho of course I could be mistaken. It almost seems sometimes like they are going out of the way to deliberately skirt the glaringly obvious issue - they come so close, and then - - arrgh! But, like religion, it does not have to be perfect to garner a folowing, because there is enough truth in it to sustain those who believe.
