Re: Science is a cult?

To the philosophers who espouse such beliefs, I say, good luck in getting the world to abandon millenia of development of contract law. Contracts are agreements for exchanges, examples of which abound even in the so-called bible, which its believers recognize as their god-given law. Do they thinkt god would provide contract law, if people were to share "unconditionally" ? Contracts inherently contain obligations.

The commandment that says thou shalt not want thy neighbor's wife, inherently means that your neighbor is NOT to give freely what is his. Otherwise, you could want the neighbor's old lady and have her any time, Same with the house. People only give their children away under an illusion, or by force. Why don't parents give their children out freely to the needy ? It's a law of nature not to.

Laws of possession are there for good reason. Society depends on laws of possession. And property rights , in the bible and elsewhere are the evidence that we are not to give freely.

Civilization is base on NOT giving freely as a central premise. Giving "freely" is an option for those with legal standing and who choose to do so.
