Re: Science is a cult?

I am not so sure I would go that far.

References to how Iodine is being used by Brownstein et. al. goes back at least to 1896... and assuming these doctors including Brownstein have done due diligence, they have all read through and have been influenced by, all of it including the Jarvis work.

Jarvis is credited with defining halide displacement best in writing (1958) here...

The mechanism behind “halogen displacement” was probably best described by J.C. Jarvis, M.D. (Folk Medicine, Henry Holt and Co., 1958, HB, pg 136) who wrote: "The clinical activity of any one of these four halogens is in inverse proportion to its atomic weight. This means that any one of the four can displace the element with a higher atomic weight, but cannot displace an element with a lower atomic weight. For example, fluorine can displace chlorine, bromine and Iodine because fluorine has a lower atomic weight than the other three. Similarly, chlorine can displace bromine and Iodine because they both have a higher atomic weight. Likewise, bromine can displace iodine from the body because iodine has a higher atomic weight. But a reverse order is not possible. A knowledge of this well-known chemical law brings us to a consideration of the addition of chlorine to our drinking water as a purifying agent. We secure drinking water that is harmful to the body not because of its harmful germ content but because the chlorine content now causes the body to lose the much needed iodine..."

I would be VERY surprised if Dr. Brownstein did not run into and read through Jarvis' works on iodine and kelp.

I did not see where Jeff wrote, "Dr. Brownstein used Jarvis' ideas and put his name on it"

I did read this post though...

If that is the one you are referring to... I did not read through the whole thread.

I think Jeff's point was as I understood it, expressed here...

//www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=929542#i

and here...

//www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=929565#i

There seems to be quite a bit of censorship and favoritism going on here as illustrated by the rating of your post. I do not agree with it, as i believe your post is in poor taste at best, but then, it is not my forum.
