Re: Hi Brix farmers

LD Di
I have a small garden plot of about 900 sf & fertilize with leaves & limestone, not chemicals. Have not supplemented per ML instructions, yet. After picking Blue Lake green beans, I did the brix check at a #5. The chart I have says 4 is POOR, 8 is AVG. How come I can't grow even a decent, lowly "AVG" bean? If brix is the sugar content(?), why is a green bean not sweeter? By the way, the deer approve of the taste & do not complain.

If so many of us have such a difficult time of buying or growing anything decent, I guess we are obligated to seek the solution mentioned at your 3-day "Follow..." fest this summer.

All we can do at this point, in my opinion, is to do the best we can so the downward slide is not so great. How ML does it is a wonderment.
