Re: Advice Needed! Vet Said My cat Is Pre-Diabetic What Diet Should I Feed Her?
I'd do the same thing I would do if I was 'pre diabetic', whatever that is. I think docs spend all their time thinking up new conditions and diseases to push their drugs. I believe vets are probably big pill pusher like regular docs and want first and foremost to push their pills and do costly treatments. I am sure they mean well .... *cough*.
I agree that raw fresh foods is the way to go [and with us too, eh?]. Also add some oils like virgin coconut oil, fish oil [they'd love that!] and the like. I have 10 cats and have had cats all my life. I don't do vaccines for them either. They are outdoor cats so they supplement their diets with mice and birds and such too. FRESH RAW MEAT.
You might even try getting some green powder [the kind of organic stuff you buy to mix with water and drink] and mix some in with some really good canned food. At least the canned food has some oils and juice. Also sprinkle a bit of mineralized salt [you know real salt, like real
Sea Salt or Himylaian salt, NOT
table salt or 'ionized
table salt ] in the cat's drinking water. Just a bit maybe once a week or so. This helps re-add minerals to the cat's diet and makes him/her alkaline, which is a ph where diseases cannot survive!!
