AS is usual, the secular press - The London Telegraph - gets certain things wrong.
One, the first paragraph claims the Church approves of these "chimeras". But as the report goes on, it admits only the bishops of England and Wales made this statement - and NOT the Church as a whole. The final say, as always, comes from Rome. And this issue being fraught with controversy, the Faith - at least the Traditionalists in it - will pray and study this issue carefully before making any pronouncement.
There are around 4,000 bishops worldwide. The first paragraph gives the impression that the entire Church worldwide gave it's a-okay. It didn't.
This is the trouble when we rely on the secular "mainstream" media as our source on religious and spiritual news. The majority of the press being secular, they won't get a lot of things right, as well as repeat untruths or agendas woven in their articles.
Or have we forgotten what they did in their reporting on Rev. Jerry Falwell at the time of his death?
