I also was scheduled for the Mirena and I'm 20 been on different pills since sixteen and I recently went to a different GYNO that told me that IUD's are not healthy for women because it can cause serious infections in your uterus, can cause many health problems, and some cases though very few, death...because some women's IUD's can pirce the abdominal wall and even though the pamphlet doesnt make it a big deal, it can cause internal bleeding and then I read all of these before going to my GYNO and I know your older but I honestly think you would be making the worst decision of your life...I've done great on the pill but because of my own health problems, my first GYNO had suggested the Mirena because he couldnt find out why I was having pain in my lower left side everytime I startedmy period (for a month and a half everytime) so I went to a different GYNO who told me two things that I could have and that could be very serious so I decided not to get the GYNO, especially when he said IUD's are bad but the overall decision is yours in the end...but do you want to risk your health and safety because once it is in, you may have a very hard time getting anyone to remove it.
