Re: Water fasting Vs Eating disorder

NO. No recovered eating disorder sufferer or responsible naturopath would ever recommend you Water Fast at this stage.

When you have an eating disorder your electrolytes are severely at risk of becoming imbalanced (if they aren't already). This can lead to heart problems and even death. I speak from experience - I have had heart problems resulting from an ED. I also find many of the eating disorder suffers on here want to fast just to loose weight but use health as an excuse. Begin to eat healthily and normally and then maybe consider a short juice fast. Your body is already lacking nutrition and mineral stores, going on a Water Fast will make it worse. You can, however, increase your water intake since you're loosing a lot of water when you fall to bulimia and vomit, which puts you at risk of dehydration.
