Re: Water fasting Vs Eating disorder
I'm no expert in the field of eating disorders, but to me this sounds like a VERY bad idea. Attempting to fast could easily set up another starve/binge cycle - what happens if you are so hungry after 2 days, for example, that you cave in and eat something? And then you feel you have to purge, otherwise you've ruined the fast. Then you beat yourself up about the whole thing and start over again. And so it goes on. This is just my opinion, but I do not believe that an extreme fasting regime will "end the cycle" as you put it.
If you want to fast, save it for later, when you are healthier physically & psychologically. In the meantime, look into conscious/mindful eating (also called "non-dieting"), which teaches you how to use eating as a meditative practice, tune into your body's hunger signals and stop obsessing over food & weight. I had issues with bingeing & starving (I never purged), and now I practise mindful eating, along with a healthy wholefoods diet, and I no longer have any desire to harm myself in that way.
I realise that is more info than you asked for. I wish you well. :)
