Re: some important things to consider--- dry cracked paws? or oozing?
Thank you so much for the response....
I have been giving her VCO in her food, I have to be careful how much I give cause it does tend to have a laxative effect on her. I also tried rubbing VCO into the paws. I rub in on the effected area but also on the pads of her feed to moisturise them. The worst of it is on the two front paws right now (that is where she has broken the skin), but she bites at her rear paws also.
With honey are you suggesting applying it topically? I know she licks the VCO oil off and I am sure she would with honey too. I have also tried painting
Iodine on the sores to help them heal. It looks like they are drying out, but she still keep biting at them and making them worse again.
With spraying the CS, do you dilute it? I am thinking about purchasing a Silverpuppy, but I wanted to just try some CS before I made the purchase to see what I thought about it. I have cats that I would also give CS to, as well as use it myself.
As for what is causing her itching, I can't be sure, but there are prickly things in our lawn that she might be allergic too. She doesn't spend a great deal of time outdoor (due to heat and she is old and lazy). But our grass is made up of many different varieties of grass. I suppose it could be parasites, but would the effect show up elsewhere in her body?
Again, thank you for your help!
