Re: balancing neurotransmitters??

A friend of mine recommended I read "The Edge Effect -- Achieve Total Health and Longevity with the Balanced Brain Advantage"

It has a test, similar to a personality test, that helps identify your dominant neurotransmitter and if there are any deficiencies. It also outlines the traits common with the 4 different dominances, and the symptoms of deficiencies.

You can read about the deficiencies here:

The reason I mention the above, is because somewhere I read or heard in a radio broadcast that Iodine helps with hormone receptors, whether the hormone is insulin, testosterone, thyroid, cortisol, or the brain hormones -- the neurotransmitters.

If you look at the deficiencies listed at the above site, you'll see how many of them involve thinking. Personally, I tend to sit and listen because my brain doesn't process the information quickly enough and it's usually long after the subject has moved on that I finally think of an intelligent response or addition to what was being said. (I've taken the test in the book and know I have several large deficiencies in 3 of the 4 major neurotransmitters.)

Your experience makes me wonder if your brain is functioning better due to the hormone receptors working like they ought to and your neurotransmitters are more in balance now.
