Why call it Lugol's at all , when there is nothing "Lugol's" about such a formulation ?
At 2%, it is more on par with Iodine tincture, given that a tincture of Iodine in aqueous ethanol will, to some degree auto-ionize to yield some iodide, and hence tri-iodide, which is what Lugol's is anyway, except at higher concentration of about 15 % by weight of I.
I see no difference between a 2% USP tincture currently available in most drugstores, and what you're proposing to market. Am I missing something ?
