The 2%, is not only a misplaced modifier, but is mis-descriptive of the product and introduces a contradiction, as any person of ordinary skill in the chemical arts readily recognizes. I myself would neither buy, nor recommend any product so labeled.
Since Lugol's solution is 15% iodine, then 2% of that is onlyl 0.3%
I think it is misleading from the standpoint that if a person or literature source recommends Lugol's solution for a particular end use, the vast majority of the public would be led to believe that "Lugol's 2% USP" fits the bill, when in fact, it does not.
