Re: Caffeine toxicity +edit
(Edit: I just reread this: >>It brings to mind a VERY old Charlotte Gerson video in which she showed how to make the concentrate. She cooked that far longer than ANY other recipe ever recommended and said on Video that the oils must be destroyed (I believe that was 20-25 mins)<<< ...hence I see my phrase of "boil off the oil" was incorrect. Still I wonder (along with the question/concern below) how does one "destroy" an oil by gently simmering it in a coffee/water solution for a half hour? That just doesn't make any sense to me. )
I wonder in this thread two things that seem of importance:
--When studying the "toxicity" of caffeine and chocolate, were the researchers taking into consideration the VAST levels of toxins used in processing coffee beans & cocoa?
That would certainly have some bearing.
--"boiling off oil" is a conflict in terms (?) One cannot boil off/out/away oil from a solution mixed with water. The water will evaporate LONG before the oil.
Possibly what is intended is that the solution must simmer for 15-20 minutes to cook the chemicals, blend the chemicals, alter the chemicals found in the
coffee enema solution (?) I've had this discussion in email with SEVERAL folks, and it seems that "boil off the oil" MUST be some type of 'mis-speak' or translation.
My .02 worth :)
