Back to the soil life...


Water the garden with compost teas as well - Humic acids. This also fixes the minerals into the garden soil.

EM {Effective Microorganisms} does just this - In fact EMRO USA is located in Arizona. Curiously the culture uses molasses in the process.

Along with the fishy idea - good ole blood meal (iron) buried in the ground (roadkills work..)

If you use the 'sheet mulch' concept - lay cardboard at the bottom (acts as a liner) to keep your good soil at the dessert surface, rather continually dissipating away.

Also your water quality plays into this - especially hard water. Put some magnets on your waterline...
