The answer above is good. I believe in order to be healthy you must not only not do something TO your body, but you must do things FOR it. Big difference.

What is your lifestyle like? Do you meditate? Exercise? Do yoga? Eat well?

I strongly urge you to see a holistic practitioner, pefereably one that has experience with dealing with getting people off depressants and depression, and work out a personal program.

Happiness and peace of mind will NEVER be found in a bottle. You might get some relief, probably temporary, but you will have side effects that may not make that relief worth it, and you already know how hard it is to get off....

There are herbs and supplements you can take for Depression and anxiety. If you scroll down, you will see people talking about them. Bach flower remedies work well on emotions. Rescue Remedy in particular is good for tears or a flare up when you think you want to hit your husband. Even stronger is an herbal tincture called Valerian Poppy Supreme, by Gaia. Excellent for anxiety and anger. It is a liquid so the effect is almost instantaneous. You can get it in most large health food stores or goole Gaia.

The Omega 3s (fish oil) is excellent for Depression and recommend by almost everyone, although it might take a week or two to feel the difference. A good "green drink" is an excellent idea. Pau de Arco tea would be another excellent choice. (It will sooth your liver, the home base of anger, and clean up your blood.)

Ultimately, tho, you need to fast, cleanse, do yoga and meditate. It is not as easy as popping a pill, but the rewards are countless.

You also might want to investigate thyroid conditions. Most Depression originates from the thryoid, not life traumas. Google Dr. Mark Starr and read his book on hypothyroidism. It will open your eyes to a wealth of information. Most hypos DO NOT show up in blood work, so if you have been told yours in normal, it might not be so. Hypothroidism is in epidemic proportions. I am hypo, my dog is hypo, and I think my kitty is too. (I call us the three litte hypos....)
