Iodine and Glutamine
Reading the excerpts about minerals just posted recently here, I started to think. It just came to my mind that the excessive
Iodine deficiency we are suffering from could be a consequence of excessive glutamate supplementation.
It is well known that extra glutamate (in the form of
Mono-Sodium-Glutamat (Natrium Glutamat) and hydrolyzed protein) has been causing havoc with the thyroid function.
Would this be because all this extra glutamate binds with the
Iodine available in the body at the time?
In that case could we escape the consequences of our ingesting all this unwanted
Mono-Sodium-Glutamat (Natrium Glutamat) by supplementing with iodine?
Maybe this is why Japanese people seem able to ingest enourmous quantities of
Mono-Sodium-Glutamat (Natrium Glutamat) with no obvious side-effects : them are full of Iodine!
We know fully well that it is impossible to escape this msg if you are travelling for instance. Hence untold misery for MSG affected folks.
This would be FANTASTIC RELIEF! To be able to move around freely again, with just a bottle of Iodine. True it may leak. OK, a bottle of Iodoral!
Unfortunately, this is just an idea that has taken form this morning and I am no scientist able to follow it through.
Any ideas about this? Any bright chemist minds?
Help!
Now if this hypothesis is correct, that would explain why I for one seem to have a deficiency in iodine.
I lived all my life in an area where the tap water has never been fluoridated, and drank spring water all the time! Never used toothpaste with fluor added! Ate quite a lot of sea food all around, in fact my favourite food!
I started to feel thyroid problems and breast problems big time when more and more cars invaded the area. Which is why I had posted about bromide in exhaust gas. But may be inordinate amounts of added glutamate in the diet are doing the same thing? This extra glutamate invaded my life at the same time as the cars did. I cannot see myself as poisoned by fluoride or bromide but the symptoms are the same.
I would be very grateful for your thoughts on this.
