COM-100 tester ????????

I got my COM-100 tester. Can anyone tell me which mode it should be in to test CS? Does it need to be calibrated? I read on SP site that it didn't (I think). I made some CS yesterday and the light would not even come on (on auto). After 6 hours (the nodes did not even change color) I turned it on manual and the light came on and with in a few hours the nodes turned black. Now I would like to test the CS to find out the PPMs.
