Iodine faster than honey at healing wounds

Last week, my wife had a deep cut (3-4mm depth) on her finger from the kitchen knife. I sprayed diluted Lugols into the wound (it stings the 1st time). Continued to spray at 1-2 hour intervals throughout the day. Next day, the wound has almost healed, no gaps were observed & the wound has closed, with a hint of tear on the new skin.
