One more thing about 'diet'....


I just wanted to add one more thing about starting our day with nuts, yogurt,
cottage cheese & flax, and juicing like I mentioned above. When Owen first started
talking to me about these things...I thought..."NO WAY". We ate fairly healthy...
but I thought there was no way we could go to such a strict diet...we LIKED starting
our day with hot oatmeal on a cold winter morning....with good whole milk...and a
big glass on the side...it warmed our insides...the milk and Sugar 'lifted our spirits' to start the day. :-) But just as you would suspect...we crashed within
the hour...with our workday still ahead of us.

So on a whim one day, I told my husband...let's just try it...the GOOD FOOD :-)
is still here IF we want or need it. So we made a plan for the next day to
"eat like Owen". :-)
I cannot TELL YOU the energy we had that day...no crashes...no tiredness or weakness...just gung ho energy...and lots of it. We've been die hard 'guru eaters'
ever since. In the evening, we try to continue our healthy eating..having salads..
raw veggies...a little chicken or fish and on occasion a STEAK :-) but the difference we feel eating like this is like the difference in night and day.

You may 'think' you'd have less energy eating so 'light'...but let me tell you...
it's all nourishing food and it gives you energy to beat the band. We get all the
nutrients our bodies need in the juicing, etc...and we are so much better for it.

Now Owen eats a LOT better than we do...but I took some of his ideas...and we ran
with them. And it made all the difference in the world.

But that's one reason I was so shocked to come down with this liver problem...until
I realized it had to be from the meds I've taken for decades....I am already totally off of one...and cut my blood pressure med from 4 a day to 1...and could
probably drop that.....that leaves my Synthroid and Lanoxin...which I'm working on.

Just thought I'd add that about diet....because diet is sooooooooooooooo important!
