Re: This is getting expensive - how can I know what I've got?

The most nutrient-dense, toxin-free foods you can afford. I suggest the Weston A. Price Foundation for some nutritional information. One of the ways you can get more out of some of your foods, such as grains and nuts, is to sprout and/or ferment them. According to traditional principles, I soak nuts in salt water, then dry them out, to remove their digestive inhibitors, for example.

Don't think you have to pay high prices at a place like Whole Foods to get the best foods (indeed, that's probably not the best way at all...read The Omnivore's Dilemma).

Good food is part of detoxification! And you have to eat anyway. Plus, it's all connected...dumping lots of extra minerals into your body won't help you (they'll come right back out) if you don't have enough fats, enough vitamin A & D...
