As an aside, our area is experiencing a lot of undiagnosed whooping cough. Someone I know does not vaccinate her children and they have been diagnosed with whooping cough. Her son got it from a vaccinated classmate but because most are vaccinated, no one is noticing that the entire class has been coughing for months. When the mom called everyone who had come in contact with her children, she found that a relative and her daughter had it. When the relative called the pediatrician, he told her that it wasn't whooping cough because the daughter's lungs were clear when she had come in the previous day. Even doctors aren't admitting that it could be - it amazes me because in doing research I found out that in whooping cough the lungs are clear and the only way to diagnose it is to do a nasal culture and not everyone "whoops." Even another parent didn't even mention it to her doctor that her son was exposed to whooping cough after he had been coughing for three weeks because he is vaccinated. This makes it very dangerous for infants when no one will even check to see if these children have it and then keep them away from others.
