Ditto what Trapper said. You are making something other than true electro-colloidal if you're adding salt. That is a no-no. Yes it's speeds up the process but you end up with cloudy impure CS that is not as effective as the clear ionic CS. It is worth the wait to make the real stuff. Here is a tip. Make your usual amount of CS without the salt. It may take a few hours but that is ok. When it is done save 1/4 of it as starter for your next batch. You have CS much faster this way and it will be pure, clear CS with no white clouds. Clouds are bad. In an emergency if I had nothing else I would drink dark or cloudy CS. But why drink CS with impurities in it when you can have the good stuff? Hope that helps.
