You still didn't tell us what unit you were using? You should not see a cloud forming unless your using a HVAC type system. It should be clear all the time and only the Silver rod should darken thats it. Your water is inpure if your getting a cloud effect. Make sure when you boil your water that its in a coated saucepan and not bare metal or the coating broke exposing iron etc. That can damage water quality!
