Re: Nailed the problem

I have a question about your use of lemon juice "in an attempt to re-acidify the bowels" and the consequent conclusions you draw from the injestion of that lemon juice.

I had understood, from various sources, that although lemons, limes, and grapefruits are chemically acid, tests show that when they are metabolized in the body they actually have an alkalizing effect.

Would this not mean, then, that your extra does of lemon juice are in fact having the opposite effect to the one you are arguing is helping you with your symptoms?

As I have a problem with a highly acid system, and have been using lemons (on advice) to alkalize my system, I would be interested in your comments. Perhaps there is some subtelty here I am missing ....
