Dissident science writer Peter Bros points out in this essay that science is a hodge-podge of facts and theories -- the theories are often used to support "establishment" dogmas that are later proven to be wrong. Lord Kelvin was one such dissident, who got excoriated by the Darwinian dogmatists. If he were alive today, he might very well agree with the severe reduction in the geological age of the earth that the link you posted expounds.
