Re: You want a placebo with cancer?

"Of course not ! I'm convinced about alternative remedies, but let's say I'm a hard core sceptic saying : "I only want to believe you if you give me solid proof". What would be your answer ?"

Of course you wouldn't participate in a placebo study if you had cancer.  And that's my point.  Who with cancer would participate?

A placebo in a cancer study won't work.  First, if you have cancer and you are a hard core skeptic, you wouldn't participate in the study anyway.  Then nobody who has cancer would participate in a placebo double blind study.  In fact, scientists will not conduct a double blind study of cancer patients because, you are sentencing 50% of them (those who receive the placebo) to a certain death sentence.  That would only work in Nazi Germany - and we aren't there yet.
