remedies, but let's say I'm a hard core sceptic saying : "I only want to
believe you if you give me solid proof". What would be your answer ?"
Of course you wouldn't participate in a placebo study if you had
cancer. And that's my point. Who with cancer would participate?
A placebo in a cancer study won't work. First, if you have cancer and you
are a hard core skeptic, you wouldn't participate in the study anyway.
Then nobody who has cancer would participate in a placebo double blind
study. In fact, scientists will not conduct a double blind study of
cancer patients because, you are sentencing 50% of them (those who receive the
placebo) to a certain death sentence. That would only work in Nazi Germany
- and we aren't there yet.
