No, betnovate is a corticosteroid cream that will calm the itching, but it isn't an antifungal. I've used corticosteroid creams for years for the itching, but the problem is that they don't get to the underlying cause of the itching which, for me at least, was yeast. Once the yeast is gone, the itching stops so that you don't need the corticosteroid cream anymore.
