Re: Comment, and one pitfall of alkalizing.

You make very good points... thank you.

Re: Iodine

I think the keep in mind here is HIS (halide imbalance syndrome)

If we are staying FAR away from fluorine, bromine and chlorine AND getting sufficient Iodine in our diets we should be fine. In fact, even if we have a severe imbalance, once the change in lifestyle has been made a slow recovery is most likely imminent.

The stories that strike me are the mega dosing in severe cases for 1 - 6 months and the seemingly miraculous recoveries... what also has had an impact is the increase in kelp.

I am not brushing aside the ML drink here, I do it as well. Here are the things that have given me a big step up to where I am now, not necessarily in order (I cannot remember) outside of my huge dietary changes.

Maca (loads of potassium)
Magnesium citrate
The ML drink
green foods like chlorella, spirulina, wheat grass etc.
and now an increasing dose of kelp

Notice how frequently the sea veges come up... I also crave and have always craved Iodine rich foods including dulse, kelp and other sea vegetables in my daily foods.

If HIS is a real concern, and I now think it is, I wonder how much of an imbalance I had to begin with and may still have. Will the craving go away once I normalize?

In just a week my flexibility, strength, endurance, and joint comfort has improved once again. Not everyone has the same needs as I so YMMV.

I too eat my eggs raw, free range and organic from a farm 1.5 hours away. Too bad my organic raw dairy is 1.5 hours the opposite direction, but at least they are there. I am fortunate.
