Re: Sociopaths in zone of their own

Hi there, I was just reading thru the posts in this forum and remembering a time a few years ago when I was in a very violent and abusive relationship. The thing about alot of men who abuse and or batter women is that alot of them are not sociopaths. My abuser, would not hurt an animal or a child most of the time, unless he was completely out of control in a rage, and , when he wasnt abusing me would have taken a bullet or ran into a burning building for me in a heartbeat.
Yet he came close to killing me numerous times. The majority of abusive men, abuse because they think they have the right, that the woman they are in the relationship with is not as important as they are. Most men who abuse DO NOT have mental illness as an excuse, they do it because they can! We as a society Have got to make domestic violence unacceptable! Period! Any Man who batters should become a public pariah. And preteen and teenage boys should be taught from the time they are old enough to listen that this cannot go on! Public awareness and education is one way to try to get a handle on this epidemic, and it is an epidemic, ther are more of us out there than people are aware.
