Re: is it normal for pain to be around so long?

I, too, struggle with reintroducing food. My doctor, who also suffers from diverticulosis, told me add LOW fiber foods for the first week after a liquid diet. White rice, for example, not brown. And, PLENTY of water to keep things moving. Once the pain is gone, then start introducing fiber rich foods very slowly to allow your body to adjust to the added fiber.

I also found chewing more slowly and more thoroughly made my discomfort more manageable.

I discovered, too, that I was eating too much food making my body unable to digest the quantities I was ingesting. I was amazed at how little food I really need and how much water I do need.

Excercise is something I need to do -- and I hate to exercise, but love being toned -- so I need to find some exercise regimen I can handle ... any suggestions?

Hope this helps.
