No one, not even Pepe, is saying you won't lose weight on it, or that Burroughs did not say you wouldn't lose weight on it.
Everyone is just saying that it won't stay off without a lifestyle change. Even if you were maintaining that 130 lbs for 2 years and were not steadily gaining, if you do a MC, lose 10 lbs, and then still do exactly what you were doing before, you'll start gaining because:
--a few lbs lost is simply water weight and an empty colon
--your metabolism is slower after a fast
--because you lost a few lbs, you'll need fewer calories as your daily baseline calorie requirement
So you'll either have to exercise to boost metabolism and burn more caloiries, or you'll have to eat more healthfully, or ideally, both-- ie, a lifestyle change.
