Perhaps Jesus doesn't, but forgiveness does.  Jesus brought forgiveness to the planet to end the karma game.  The only way off the planet, the only way to escape karma, is to forgive others, and even more importantly, to forgive yourself.  Until you begin to understand and identify yourself as spirit, you will be stuck in a body until the end of the earth.  Spirit doesn't use logic.  Bodies do.  You are in an infinite loop, on a body level.  You can escape your loop by recognizing yourself as spirit.
