Re: Doc visit results

Hello, Shroom.

Re:
"
...The main dangers when playing aroud with benzodiazepines is overdose.
"

When it comes to its interaction with certain meds, I MUST disagree with the above statement.

Take an interaction as simple as a Benzodiazepine+Metronidazole (Flagyl commercialy).
As we all know, Metronidazole is an antibacterial/antiparasitic agent used commonly.
Without getting too technical about it, the interaction between Metronidazole and a Benzodiazepine appears to be such that, at least until 2001, experts couldn't quite agree on its significance [and implications, of course]:

in fact, personally I don't know or haven't read of any expert that could be sure and exact about such interactions to this very date.

..and that's just to give you a very brief example. If you like technical reasons for it, read this small excerpt:

Revealing isn't it? It seems to make quite clear the potential for harmful interactions arising from benzodiazepine derivatives. If you don't hear much talk about it, it's because little is known, and whatever little information there is, it's [supposed to be] taught to doctors in medical school so that they'll never make the mistakes you seem to be approaching.

"
Because the drug developes such a fast tolorance, many people continue to increase the doses to reach the original effects they had with the drug in the beginning of administration. The mistake often made is {they} reach a point where the drug reaches a critical level in the body and toxifies the entire system resulting in death. These drugs are often used for suicide, euthanasia, and lethal injections.
Certain interactions, especially alchohol, could cause over-toxification and even death.
On the otherhand, the drug is very effecient at reaching valuable cell receptors in the brain, and "cleansing" neuro-pathways.
I beleive that many stubbourn pathogens can produce certain fatty acids and peptides which block specific pathways. Shroom

Haven't you considered the simple possibility that some helminths in fact may 'get high' on lorazepam itself which could account for many of the presumed responses on them? After all, it does affect GABA receptors:

Benzodiazepine
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alprazolam 2mg tablets

The benzodiazepines (pronounced [ˌbenzəʊdaɪˈæzəpiːnz], or "benzo" for short) are considered minor tranquilizers that are a class of drugs with sedative, hypnotic, anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, amnestic and muscle relaxant properties. Benzodiazepines are often used for short-term relief of severe, disabling anxiety or insomnia. Long-term use can be problematic due to the development of tolerance and physiological and psychological dependency. They are believed to act on the GABA receptor GABAA, the activation of which dampens higher neuronal activity. They began to be widely prescribed for stress-related ailments in the 1960s and 1970s. Their chemical structure is based upon diazepine and phenyl groups.

..which we all know are part of helminths themselves (

)

Note, by the way, how the definition of Benzodiazepines reads:
"
They are believed to act on the GABA receptor GABAA, the activation of which dampens higher neuronal activity.
"

The term "they are believed" means WE DON'T KNOW FOR SURE, Shroom.

While I may be wrong, evidence seems to be accumulating, Shroom, that you have little or no clue about what you're doing or trying to do.
