Re: Guesses about Mucoid Plaque

I have been reading a lot of posts about MP, the ones from people who believe in it, and the ones form skeptics who say the colon is pink and it cleans itself. Then I realized that my husband had worked 8 years ago at a GI practice assisting the gastroenterologist during colonoscopies...so I asked him about what he saw.

First I asked how many colonoscopies he attended. He can't even remember how many because it was a busy practice (clinical studies on GI conditions), so it must have been at least 50.

Then I asked him to describe what he saw on the screen when the camera entered the colon and went up during the colonoscopy. His answer was that there is not such thing as a perfect colon, and that he saw all sorts of things from polyps, mucuous membrane to fecal matter (obstructions) that looked old and disgusting. He says the deeper the camera went up the colon, the more obstructions he saw.

Since this is first hand information, I now believe that cleaning the bowels regularly is essential in order to improve my health. I am preparing to do my first Bowel Cleanse as soon as my P&B powder gets here. Happy flushing!
