Re: FDA just approved cloned meat for U.S. consumption?

Hi Apxer--I've seen the same report. It states that they only use the "cloned" animal for breeding. It would be compared to "unnatural selection" but the genes lines would still have diversity. It should improve the ability of the animals to fight infections. But, there could be a backlash if the new animal's immune-system creates "super pathogens" which do not affect the animal but can devastate other mammals. Shroom
