Please, inform me!


Alrightythen - I am thoroughly interested in any change (enhancement) that will promote better health for myself and my family. Would someone who is knowledgable about this process please explain it? Though this may seem a stupid request, I honestly am ignorant of this process and I would love to know the benefits, etc.

I am morbidly obese and I have always had an absolute fight to maintain a healthy body-fat ratio, throughout my life. During teenage years, I had a "normal" appearance, an active social life, and boundless energy, though I abused OTC appetite supressants in order to facilitate that "Twiggy" look that everyone was overly interested in during the 60's - 70's (and, up until now). Today, I drink coffee, smoke cigarettes, and I would like to throw away these (and, other) crutches that I know, intellectually, are damaging, dangerous, and completely unnecessary! I don't drink alcohol except on extremely rare occasions, and very little, then. I avoid taking OTC and prescribed medications, at all costs. I have been tested for diabetes and am not diabetic. I do have a high cholesterol level. I have acid reflux (I believe), but I opt away from the prescribed stuff and chew a couple of TUMS whenever I'm uncomfortable. I am not interested in pursuing a vegan regime - I am not disciplined enough to even consider it, and I happen to like meat. I do eat processed foods, and I am making a concerted effort to evolve away from that - to prepare more game-food, free-range meats, organic vegetables, etc. I practice fine and ceramic arts and am in the vicinity of cobalt (oxides), manganese, magnesium, copper (oxides), and other chemical compounds used to mix ceramic glazes and painting pigments. Note, that I DO wear a particle respirator when mixing glazes! Would Holy Basil be appropriate, here?

One thing to note, here: I crave spinach pie! I mix feta, about 5 Tbs olive oil, ricotta, tons of garlic, sea-salt, & ground pepper with spinach, fill a filo crust, and bake. What's THAT all about? I honestly find myself CRAVING this concoction and nobody else in the family will eat it! Is this a good thing? Egad.

And, if blood-type has anything to do with anything, mine is B neg.
