Re: Juicer??
Hi everybody...just checked in and thought I'd throw my 2.5 cents in...
All great juicers...
I discovered the Norwalk not too long ago...ebay was cheap, otherwise ching-ching!
http://norwalkjuicers.com/. We're planning on opening a restaurant and we drink a lot of juice so it's worth it. Not great for the single folks unless you are bathing in juice! Interesting story behind the guy that invented it...
Our family had a Champeeen that we also got in the 50's ,geez my little brother probably sharpened his bleemin' pencils with it...ok,so did I ...ended up giving it to a friend in need a few years back. The thing was a tank! Think they make the black box for airplanes with the used recycled parts.
Budgetwise I had a juiceman I travelled with - that never quit. I know I lost a lot of juice in the pulp so I just made soup stock with it,made sauces,etc...
The main thing for me is to drink the juice right after I make it. That way you
get all the live enzymes,etc...best flavor, most cluck for your buck...that oxygen factor that Pepe mentioned is so true, from the time you cut them up. I really wonder though, how long the enzymes can live anyway in my cast iron stomach...
No matter what though, clean up is never quick. I love those infomercials that make it look like you can be in the jacuzzi 2 minutes after you make your juice. ...just hose the whole dad blamed kitchen down! :P
bye for now...gotta get some sleep...still rebuilding retaining walls and jacking up the foundation after our quakes...ugh...at least there is nothing that can't be fixed.
aloha... :D
