Re: Why I Hate Thanksgiving By MITCHEL COHEN

I celebrate Thanksgiving with a clear conscience. With the exception of maybe Veterans Day, holidays don't mean much in America anymore. They have gone "commercial". So much time has passed since the 1600's that I am not thinking of the Indians, and I don't feel particularly guilty about it. What is done is done and it can't be reversed. You shouldn't forget the past, but you need to live in the present. I am not that religious, but I still celebrate Christmas even though Christians have killed thousands and thousands and thousands of people over the centuries. Holidays are a time to be with family and friends. The original intent of the holiday is usually lost in the shuffle unfortunately. Even Christmas.
