Re: In a fiercely bad mood on day of cleanse

Dear Desperado,

It is interesting you post this. I talked to an old friend this morning who has done 14 mos. of liver cleansing. I saw him at the beginning of the process in '05 and he was very rageful (usually he is very calm and quiet and stable!) at times, and despondent at others. He was doing a Liver-Flush once per week and then coffee enemas and a lot of raw/steamed food/fasting in between. But -- a LOT of stuff was coming up and out. (emotional as well as stone-y). He actually made some of our mutual friends nervous with it. I do think, based on the pace I have read about here, that maybe he was doing too much too fast, but definitely some "fiercely bad" stuff.

Anyway, he is back to normal, though healthier and better than ever, and said (as I start the Liver-Flush process) to keep a journal of what goes through my mind, and also to just remember it is toxins coming out. No more, no less.

He and I are both in recovery and he is someone whom I have always admired in part because he is stable, sensible, not easily ruffled, and serene -- but boy, when he was doing those early cleanses, he was really feeling a lot of stuff. Old stuff, family stuff, relationship stuff, you-name-it-stuff. And then he would be fine again. So I definitely think this is part of the process.

I have another friend who has been happily sober for a long time, and when she started cleansing she got really terrible cravings for drugs and alcohol. Powerful stuff!

I have heard that the liver is the seat of anger. "Have a gut feeling," etc. This is consistent with the greater clarity people report on the other side of cleansing (both friends and people here on CZ).

It will pass and you will feel lots better! (I felt horrible this morning, had no stones, but then got a real energy burst later in the day.)

Off to oil-pull, which always brings some calm! ;)

Best wishes,

Laura
