Re: Cause of Hypo with elevated anti-bodies theory
Hello again
I'm not in a position to advise you about your Kelp/iodine intake. Why do you think you have to take
Iodine ? Who told you that you were
Iodine deficient ?
What you need to do is conduct an
Iodine deficiency test. Now this is something I have never done, but it is quite a simple process and I will provide a few links in a moment explaining what to do, where to buy the iodine and what to look for in order to interpret the test. If the test result indicates that you are not actually iodine deficient, then you need not take kelp at all. If the result suggests you are iodine deficient then take kelp but dont take more than the daily recomended dose which is 150 mcg. Iodine can cause as many problems as it can alleviate. If you feel insecure about performing your own iodine deficiency test, ask your GP to do one. One point of note, an iodine deficiency test is nothing to do with the RAIU iodine uptake test that the doctor has already performed on you, they are completely different tests, you quite simply want to know whether you need to take kelp or not, for its iodine content. Also, in order for your thyroid to produce natural thyroxine there are a number of other elements that need to be available within your body in addition to iodine. These are, Tyrosine (an amino acid which exists in protein foods such as chicken, tuna, spirulina), Zinc, Copper and Selenium.
Here they are:

And here is some general information regarding iodine:

You are going to have to start searching the web and making an evaluation about your health for yourself, alternatively you can pay for a holisitc therapist to advise you. I did the research for myself, I paid very close attention to many articles before arrving at a conclusion about whether something would be beneficial or disruptive. There are many people who post info on websites that have little idea of the subject they are talking about, they just copy and paste info from other sites etc, so you need to be absolutely thorough.
Regarding the Thyroid Thru I hope you have as much success as I have, it takes time so dont expect miracles after one week, but it does significantly improve your wellbeing. You should take 9 tablets per day, which is the standard dose and thats all the advice I can offer you. Post your blood results on the forum on their website and the doctors there will help guide you through, afterall, they are the experts regarding their product.
Again, the candida is very very important, if you are still feeling stressed after a lengthy perscription treatment then I strongly suggest moving over to the natural remedies ive already suggested. Aslong as you have candida you will be stressed, irrespective of the impact the Thyroid Thru has upon your thyroid.
Best of luck.
