Re: Dr. Denmark

You're welcome Zoe. I absolutely love Dr Denmark. I've only known her 17 years (out of her almost 109). It made me so happy when I heard her call me "her friend." Unlike a lot of elderly people, she has a lot of friends. Dr Denmark reaches across generations (she has to) for friendship. If older people don't befriend younger ones, what is their option? How many peers of her own age do you suppose that Dr Denmark has?

It's a real shame that the older you get, the fewer friends you end up having. Not only is it important for the elderly to reach out to the younger ones. As Zoe has pointed out, we need to reach out to the elderly - hear their stories - let them share experiences (past, present and future). If you have time left, what better thing to so with it than share it? The most valuable thing you can give to anyone - especially the older ones - is your time.

Roberta
